OTEC (Ontario Tourism Education Corporation) strives to protect and respect the personal information of its customers, employees, business partners, etc. in accordance with all applicable regional and federal laws.

OTEC is committed to protecting the privacy of the personal information of its registered users’ to our website and LMS, as well as all other clients,vendors and stakeholders. OTEC works with a network of partners and suppliers to deliver training programs and services. Safeguarding personal privacy is a vital concern of OTEC’s and its partners’.

OTEC may gather and use personal information from registered users, clients and other stakeholders in its work. Anyone from whom we collect such information should expect that it will be carefully protected and that any use of, or other dealings with this information is subject to consent.

OTEC is dedicated to providing you with high quality training products, and services. In order to achieve this goal, it is essential that we gather and maintain certain company/organizationand personal information. We understand and value your concerns about sharing this information; we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it.

OTEC obtains information in a variety of ways, including when you request information in regards to our products and services; subscribe to our e-publication; register for an event or training,log on to our LMS;or when you purchase OTEC products or services. The information we collect may include your name, title, company/organization name, work email, work phone, work address and general information about your company/organization.

We use your information to provide you with the services described above; to communicate with you; occasionally update you on new products and services; and to help us better understand your needs and interests.

An individual’s consent is required regarding the collection and proposed use of personal information when information is collected. Consent can be either express, or implied, and can be provided directly by the individual or by an authorized representative. Express consent can be given orally, electronically or in writing. Implied consent is consent that can reasonably be inferred from an individual’s action or inaction. The collection of personal information is limited to relevant and necessary information to our programs and research.

OTEC will not sell, rent or lease your information to third parties for their independent use under any circumstances, except with the consent of the individual or required by law. However, disclosure may take place in some situations, including sharing information with third parties that are contractually bound to us, with the understanding not to disclose shared information for their personal use.

We have established all suitable procedures to protect the security of our client information and online transactions from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure – including locating data on secured servers. We use the services of a payment gateway to ensure that all on-line purchases paid with a credit card are processed safely. At no time will your credit card information be stored on our server.

OTEC employees understand the importance of confidentiality and client privacy. All of our employees and contractors are bound by a non-disclosure agreement. If for any reason you need to make changes to personal information, we should be contacted by email or in writing to ensure that these changes take place immediately.
