As Director, Marketing Communications, Shelagh O’Donnell is responsible for the strategic planning and oversight of integrated, multi-channel Marcom strategies that support OTEC’s priorities and business goals. Shelagh has held senior leadership roles with high profile organizations in the tourism, government, health care, non-profit and cultural sectors – including Head of Public Relations & Communications at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM); Director, Corporate Communications at CNIB; and Corporate Communications and Stakeholder Relations at CBC-Television.
Shelagh specializes in all marketing communications disciplines including corporate communications, media relations, digital marketing (B2B and B2C), branding, content strategy, social media, stakeholder relations and issues management.
Shelagh is committed to fostering a collaborative teamwork style with her colleagues, clients and partners. She brings a passion for accessibility and supporting marginalized communities, and has served on boards including Homes First, the Yonge Bloor Bay Business Association and executive committees including University Health Network to advance organizational objectives.
