Toronto, September 16, 2024 — On behalf of OTEC’s Board of Directors, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Elayne Furoy to the position of Executive Director, effective September 16, 2024.
Elayne has been an integral part of OTEC’s senior leadership team for over three years, bringing with her more than a decade of experience in leading non-profit community-based organizations. Her diverse background and expertise will be instrumental as we advance our equity and community engagement goals.
Rebecca Godfrey, Chair of the Board, shared, “Elayne exemplifies OTEC’s values of collaboration and agility, qualities that will be invaluable in her new role. The Board is committed to supporting Elayne as she begins this new role guiding the OTEC team with her strategic and authentic leadership approach.”
Under Elayne’s leadership, and with the support of OTEC’s Corporate Controller, Dina Jeffery, CPA, our newly structured team is actively engaged in initiatives for growth and revitalization. We remain dedicated to our mission of supporting and advocating for the tourism industry.
Our team continues to work with the tourism and service sectors through Tourism SkillsNet Ontario (TSNO) networks, delivering our award-winning training programs, and fostering ongoing partnerships with service providers in communities across Ontario. OTEC’s training is designed to enhance employment opportunities and career growth, with a focus on service excellence, leadership, and the development of advanced social and emotional skills.
