Through 20 years of organizational management in tourism, arts and business development sectors, Martin’s broad range of expertise, from bilingual communications and marketing to financial administration and governance, comes from working directly with rural and small businesses…where collaboration and versatility is key to success.
This leadership level of on-the-ground experience is structured by business strategy acumen learned through an Executive Master’s degree in Business Administration from Telfer School of Business (University of Ottawa).
Martin’s recent career accomplishments includes leading and supporting multiple destination and experience development strategies in culinary tourism, facilitating workforce planning strategies across regions in Ontario with OTEC, leading a team of professionals in setting up the Champlain Route, a 1500 kms tourism circuit celebrating francophone heritage across Ontario, creating major agritourism and leisure destination management and marketing campaigns with private and public partners in Eastern Ontario, and collaborating actively with national/provincial tourism stakeholders in the building of workforce and training frameworks and solutions in the industry, including College La Cité & Tourism HR Canada. Martin is also a Certified Service Excellence Facilitator with OTEC.
