PRESS RELEASE: OTEC Launches New Training Program to Support Vaughan-Based Businesses with Resiliency Training
Toronto, ON — OTEC is pleased to announce the launch of a new, high-impact resiliency training program designed to support Vaughan-based tourism and hospitality businesses in navigating ongoing workforce challenges.
Made possible through funding from the City of Vaughan’s Talent City Vaughan program, this initiative will equip frontline workers, customer service teams, managers, and business leaders with the practical tools and strategies they need to thrive in today’s fast-changing environment.
“With employers continuing to face macro and micro disruptions, the need for agile, resilient teams is more urgent than ever,” said Sue Christensen, Senior Director, Learning Solutions & Co-Lead at OTEC. “We’re thrilled to partner with the City of Vaughan to deliver training that will directly benefit local businesses and help participants build critical skills for success.”
Resiliency skills have emerged as a top priority in 2025, echoing global workforce trends. The World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs report ranks “resilience, flexibility, and agility” among the most in-demand skills for 2025, on par with problem-solving, emotional intelligence, and leadership.
As part of this new training program, two instructor-led training sessions will be provided for up to 20 eligible participants, with a focus on training core resiliency topics such as:
- Foundations of Resilience
- Mastering the Inner Narrative
- Stress, Self-Care & Sustainable Performance
- Customer Service Excellence in Uncertain Times
The program will run throughout Fall and Winter 2025 and is available free of charge to eligible employers and participants. Vaughan-based tourism and hospitality employers can contact OTEC to learn more and register their interest: info@otec.org
