Partner Feature: Unemployed Help Centre

Unemployed Help Centre (UHC), located in Windsor, Ontario, is a registered non-profit charitable organization that was established in 1977. They assist a diverse population in the community to improve the quality of their lives by offering a myriad of programs and services under one roof. The UHC offers employment services which includes sector-specific training, one-on-one employment counselling, employment skills training, Literacy and Basic Skills, GED and more.

Founded in 1983, KEYS provides Kingston and communities in Eastern Ontario with a variety of dynamic employment programs and services as a community employment centre. Their expertise in helping individuals to attain their employment goals extends to a diverse population; including: mature workers, persons with disabilities, youth, students and newcomers to Canada.

Partner Feature: Employment + Education Centre

The Employment and Education Centre (EEC), is a charitable, non-profit agency that has been serving members of the Brockville, Leeds and Grenville area since February 1, 1985. EEC has created a new tool to empower their clients to reach their potential and prepare them to live and compete in an ever changing environment. With a mission to “Empower clients with employment, financial and life skills to enhance their quality of life through the delivery of excellent service, EEC’s vision is being realized.

Career Edge: H.E.A.T

While Career Edge has been providing employment services since 1987, they have recently launched a new initiative to provide job ready candidates for their region’s tourism and hospitality industry.

Since OTEC introduced the Tourism SkillsNet Ontario in October 2018 to help create strategies and find solutions to solve evolving labour shortages across Ontario’s hospitality industry, much has happened. Bringing the industry and stakeholders together in 10 regions of Ontario to collaborate and focus on industry led solutions has created many positive outcomes to date.
